Alex Woolf

I’m Alex Woolf and I write fiction and non-fiction for children aged 9 and upwards. This is where you can find out a bit about me and my books. My main passions are history and science, and I’ve written lots of non-fiction titles on those subjects. It’s probably no coincidence that most of my fiction is set in the past or an imagined future. What have I got against the present? Nothing at all. I live there – most of the time!

I have been known, occasionally, to venture out of my writer’s garret to visit schools, giving talks on creative writing. If you want to get in touch with me about that or anything else, you can do so via the contact page on this website.

I am deeply honoured to have won awards for my Fiction Express stories ‘Mystery At Moon Base One’ and ‘Cosmo Mars and the Vanishing Woman’ in 2019 and 2020. These felt extra special because they were based on readers’ votes.
