  • Book Giveaway!

For one day only, on 13th March 2025, my murder mystery novel The Killing Moon will be free on Amazon. Here’s the blurb…

The staff of a small book publishing company gather to celebrate the launch of a new murder mystery novel by their bestselling author Joseph Tombs. Little do they know they are about to become characters in a real-life murder mystery.

Shortly after raising a toast to the new book, editorial director Ian Stone falls down dead, seemingly from poison slipped into his champagne. His colleagues are shocked, but Ian’s murder is only the start of the evening’s horrors.

The party is being held in the Moonlight Lounge, a luxurious function room complete with its own roof garden on the top floor of a central London office block. The guests soon realise this plush venue has become their prison and any one of them could be next on the murderer’s list.

Woolf’s characteristic powers of storytelling, suspense, humour and flair for the uncanny come to the fore in this absorbing whodunnit set in the literary world. Super-pacey and twisty, it keeps you guessing to the very end.

  • A New Look for Chronosphere

I’m currently researching a potential new cover design for my Chronosphere series. This eye-catching illustration were created by ChatGPT.

  • Battle of the Bands

I am currently writing my 24th title for Fiction Express.

Set in my favourite era, the 1980s, it’s about a high school band Spilt Milk, who dream of hitting the big time, but they’re struggling to get gigs. Deciding they need to make a change, they hold auditions for a new lead singer. What they don’t expect is that the new singer will change the band, and create some major personal and creative conflicts along the way.

I played drums (pretty badly) for a high school band in the eighties, so this one is a bit of a nostalgia trip for me. I’m loving researching the fashion, hairstyles and music and trying to remember how we did stuff without mobile phones.
